Communicating with an alien species is a little like comparing the taste of the number S to the color of the letter 7. Some things simply do not translate well. This is to be expected because aliens are .... well, alien.

I have been gifted with the joy and the terror of contact with alien entities since childhood. In the beginning they did not understand why I screamed with fear when a 7-foot tall praying mantis manifested in my bedroom, and I did not understand why they intruded, uninvited, into my life.

However with time, effort, and patience we reached the point where we could understand each other and realized our difficulties were simply due to miscommunication; mistranslation. Over the course of many years I have come to know and love these gentle, intelligent individual beings who exist in a different reality than mine.
Just because another being doesn't look like you or me does not make them less valuable. An entity may look like a giant insect or a tiny fairy or an aquarium creature. In fact, human-appearing beings make up only a small part of the sentient life in the universe.
What if the reality we personally experience is just a small portion of a much grander one? Let's step out of the grip of fear and into the embrace of a greater Love in an incredible and mystical universe.
